SACRED HEART NEEDS HELP FOR THE ANNUAL PARISH FESTIVAL
Brothers,
We received the following email from Christine Schnabel asking for assistance for the
annual Parish Festival:
We wish to thank you for all for your past efforts in volunteering
at the parish festivals for the past two years and to request your
assistance again this year even though we are not hosting a
Casino. The festival will begin with a procession on Friday June
26th at 6pm. Therefore we ask that volunteers be here at 5:30pm
to get set and then we are open from 6pm till 11pm. The shifts
will be 2 1/2 hours long unless they are willing to stay the whole
time. We will then re-open on Saturday June 27th at 4pm.
Please contact Christine if you can spare some time to help with this very worthwhile and rewarding event.

SEND A LETTER TO YOUR STATE SENATOR NOW TO STOP LEGALIZED GAY MARRIAGE
The New York Supreme Council is urging all members to contact their state Senator to state their opposition to the gay marriage bill
before them. Here is a letter that tom Moriarty sent to use as a guide:
Dear Senator Morahan:
Please do not support the Same-Sex Marriage Bill and
please urge your fellow Senators to do likewise. This Bill is an insult to
our American way of life. It is beyond belief that it even being discussed,
let alone being considered as law.
Yours truly,
Tom Moriarty

ACT NOW TO STOP GAY MARRIAGE IN NEW YORK STATE
On Monday, May 18 2009 the council received the following email from Knights of Columbus New York State Deputy
Edward Castellazzi:
Dear Brother Knight:
The future of marriage in New York will soon be decided, and you're in a position to help make a difference.
Last Tuesday, the New York State Assembly passed a same-sex
marriage bill and sent it on to the Senate. The Senate Majority
leader says he will bring the bill to the floor when he knows he
has the votes to pass it. You can help ensure that the votes
aren't there.
Please call or e-mail your state senator and urge him or her to
vote NO on same-sex marriage. A list of the members of the New
York Senate and their contact information is included with this e-
mail. If you don't know who your senator is, you can go to
http://www.nysenate.gov/senators and
find out by entering your address and zip code.
At our Supreme Convention last August, delegates adopted a
resolution promising "That we will never waver in our efforts to
promote the Church's understanding of marriage as the faithful,
exclusive and lifelong union of one man and one woman joined in an
intimate partnership of life and love." You can find the full
text of the resolution here:
Please help the Knights of Columbus deliver on that promise.
New York's Senate will listen if we speak loudly and clearly. But
time is short, and I ask that you contact your senator as soon as
possible.
